Fundraising -
- The Bridge has registered with a website (www.easyfundraising.org.uk) where you can raise funds when you shop online. Over 400 retailers are participating in the scheme including: Amazon, NEXT, John Lewis, Vodafone, ToysRUs, Play.com and Debenhams. So next time you shop online, go to your retailer via the Easyfundraising website, and at no extra cost to yourself the Bridge will benefit from all your purchases. Type in “Guisborough Bridge Association” and the retailer will make a donation to the Bridge. You can also use www.easyfundraising.org.uk as a search engine, and the bridge can get 1p for every search made using it!
- Keep saving those printer cartridges and mobile phones (See item below)
- We're also looking at the possibility of a Bridge tea-towel and/or shopping bag, so if you have any great design ideas, we'd love to hear (or see!) them.

Jenny - Recycling:
Here's a great way to raise money for the Bridge and be green at the same time! I've registered the Bridge with www.recyclingappeal.com . If we all save our old mobile phones, toner boxes and printer cartridges, I will send them off and the Bridge will receive funds directly.
Generally speaking the cartridges need to be originally manufactured – not refilled or compatibles (though there are some exceptions – let me worry about the finer details!) – and they cannot take Epson cartridges. The items we CANNOT send them are:
Toner bottlesSo aside from the above, let's get saving! Hopefully this will be an ongoing way to earn funds for the Bridge – let's see how it goes.
You can drop cartridges etc off (in their packaging if possible) either at the Methodist church, Westgate, Guisborough, (always open between 10 and 12noon) or at the Bridge office at the URC (See contact details), or my home, 6 Tidkin Lane (if I'm not there you can leave them in plastic bags outside or in my greenhouse round the back.). I know how brilliant Bridge volunteers are at saving things – I had mountains of cardboard for the calendars! So I'm optimistic that this could be a great way of raising funds for us. Many thanks, Jenny.
